Good summary of the TWIST segment, and your suggestions are helpful too. :) The site is currently being redesigned and is scheduled to re-launch in a few days. I am a long time listener. I have been listening about the TWIST idea on Leo show TWIT, Jason ask Leo for the use of the "TWIT" acronym. Leo approve and off Jason when to start-up "TWIST". I love this show it's great for long traveling distances. I have never listen to a dulled episode as yet. My favors are Gary Vaynerchuk and Matt Mickiewicz. I brought Gray book via Audible and I am a regular visitor at Site point. Oh thanks for the Mahalo Swag, I was part of the first 50 who one that contest. The Mahalo mug sits on my desk, but it's never been used..lol

I wanted to comment on this particulate subject because I am also having a hard time driving travel to my site in my niche market. I have started a Virtual pedigrees database which stores genealogies (pedigrees) of two breed thus far, many more to come of course. You can visit the American Staffordshire Terrier at http://Amstaff.virtualpedig...; thus far, I have a few hundreds pedigrees on record with hundreds more being added to the database daily. Jason, I am also going to work on a English Bulldog database as well, you can post Taurus and Fondue AKC pedigrees alone with pictures to the database if desired. If anyone in the Jasonnation is a dog breeder and interested in starting they own breed specific pedigrees database, please contact me.

Oh yet any ideas on how to get traffic to the site, I link it to some big American Stafford hire Terrier forums, and also is a Freemium model good for this niche or should I charge a $19.00 subscription for my services?

Re: TWiST, Mike Jones of MySpace and Peter Hirschberg of The Conversation Group

Mike - I have primarily scaled back to just the "Ask Jason" and "Jason's Shark Tank" segments.

Re: TWiST, Mike Jones of MySpace and Peter Hirschberg of The Conversation Group

Am I missing something? However, I think they need to promote a few of the differentiators a bit better. I did reach out to Francis, through their site but didn't get a reply. Maybe they will read this one day and it will help them.

Re: Ask Jason, How do I get customers for my service business?

Nice recap and comments Scott. I agree with the logo recommendation. Maybe remove the shadow/3D appearance, that sucker looks like it's jumping off of the screen, way too much emphasis. Also maybe decrease the size of the image in the holiday ad with the guy reaching through the computer screen. These two things make it hard to read the sites content which is a bad thing. Other than that the site looks good visually. It's simple, clean, and not overly flashy; all good traits of a modern site in my opinion.

Re: TWiST, Garry Tan of Posterous

Scott, you hinted at this briefly in the chatroom of episode 31 but this is simply excellent. Running your own venture takes an almost naive determination and any doubt will kill your potential. I would work for someone else if you have any doubt about moving forward on your own project.

Re: Ask Jason, I’m Graduating should I learn from a great entrepreneur or learn on my own?

It's possible to be successful anywhere if you have a passion for what you're doing and work smart and hard.

Re: Protected: Best TWiST Guest 2009?

Vote for @frankensite! Keep it up! I had to vote for Mark Suster hands down. I loved his insights and candor. There were tons of value and takeaway in that episode. I can agree with the earlier posters in terms of how many great guests and how much great content TWiST provides. I hope that Jason and crew keep up the good work and the same "look and feel" moving forward. It just feels like a great startup...bootstrapped with loads of energy and intellect. I look forward to an epic 2010 for TWiST and your recaps. Happy holidays and new years wishes to everyone!

Re: Protected: Best TWiST Guest 2009?

Scott, thanks for doing this . . . there were so many great shows. I particularly enjoyed sessions with Don Dodge, John Ham & Brad Hunstable, Ryan Block and Peter Rojas and of course Gary Vaynerchuk. I am glad there is was at lease ONE woman - hope there will be more in 2010. Annnie Duke was great of course and I respect her accomplishment in poker, but hope to see businessWOMEN next year! I have placed my vote and placed it with Ryan and Peter - I loved hearing about their business as well as their history with Jason. It was a terrific show.

Re: Protected: Best TWiST Guest 2009?

I was surprised by how captivated I was by both Annie Duke and Gary Vaynerchuck. Was it their energy or the chemistry with Jason? Regardless, it didn't matter what they talked about, I was left wanting to hear more. I hope Jason is able to bring them both on again in 2010.

Re: Ask Jason, How do I grow my website?

I am glad you called in and shared your experience allowing us all to learn a bit.

Re: Ask Jason, How do I grow my website?

Hey Scott, great site, thanks for posting this clip! Trying to iterate on my own without peeps/$ is proving to be much harder than I imagined (still, interesting to do and some fun). Wondering about the metric you use to determine you've developed enough to come out of the closet. I'm not sure which interview, but Andrew mixergy.com, seemed to be saying that less than 100,000 uniques a month is basically meaningless.
Hilarious JibJab.
